For over 60 years, the Sheehan name has been synonymous with the delivery of professional real estate services with a high level of personal attention rendered to all clients. There has long been an intention to remain as a specialist real estate company to perpetuate this level of service.

In 1948, Frank Sheehan established the business in North Fitzroy and subsequently gained a reputation as a Valuer and Auctioneer. In 1963, a city office was opened which continued until 2004 when Kevin Sheehan relocated the business to Kew. At that time, the business carried a change of name from Frank J Sheehan & Co to Kevin Sheehan Property.

Frank, and his son Kevin have played leading roles in the development of the Real Estate and Valuation Industries through involvement in their professional bodies, the Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV), The Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA) and the Commonwealth Institute of Valuers, now known as the Australian Property Institute (API).

They also played a leading role in the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI), an involvement that commenced in 1956 when Frank was the first Australian to attend a world congress which that year was held in Vienna.

During his fifty five years of practice, Frank Sheehan was elevated as a Life member of the Real Estate Institute of Victoria, the Real Estate Institute of Australia and the Australian Property Institute.

Most notably, in the 1979 New Year’s Honour’s List, Frank was appointed an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Her Majesty The Queen for his services to the Real Estate Industry.

The reputation of the Company as gained over many years of Real Estate practice is therefore highly prized and strongly guarded.
